"Totems" Series (For David Smith)

Added on August 16, 2024 by Jim Roche.

The Totem Series is inspired by sculptor David Smith. David Smith’s Totem series were the first more contemporary series of works I was exposed to by my art history teacher, Larry Smith. Today, while walking through the woodlands or forests, my eye is looking for some hint of Smith’s work in the trees and vegetation. You can read a bit more about his series here: https://buffaloakg.org/artworks/k195715-tanktotem-iv
