I am familiar with gardens that are full of people, but this one had none. Empty carts, trucks parked with no one nearby, ladders, set up but abandoned or simply left where most convenient leaving you an odd feeling that something had happened, but was over.  As I walked deeper into the garden, arrangements of trees and bushes presented themselves as tableaus.  I said, "This looks like the Raft of the Medusa."  The trees in their pots looked as if they had been arranged by Delacroix, David, or Ingres. The arrangements were hasty, temporary, but oddly purposeful and reminiscent of things already in my head.
