At the Dock in Bellingham.

This is an image of the dockside in Bellingham, where restructuring and rebuilding are taking place at a frantic rate. Regretfully, over the past 5 years, the grain elevators are starting to deteriorate.

The Forest Next to the Highway

A pathway runs along the highway, just behind a break of trees, allowing light to flow in from reflections on the road, stones and water.

The Wooden Path.

This past weekend we stopped at a small lake side rest stop and walked along an old wooden pathway that follows the main highway to the mountains along the BC coast.(You can see the old wooden pathway in the last image.) Around the path trees grow out from the fallen boulders and seem to spring from nowhere, making them seem to be part of a stage set.. The light coming from the direction of the highway casts a wonderful shadow of the woodlands against the large broken rocks. Nothing seems real here, it seems more like a dream of such a place rather than the place itself.

Deep in the rainforest.

Deep in the rain forest, between two stone cliffs, grow moss and trees of such deep green they all seem to blend together. Water drips from the walls, the moss and the trees and seems to percolate through the ground.

People choose where to live, how or if they will mow their lawn, the colour pain they use, and what trees remain, get cut down or are replanted. These all reflect on their identity and to a degree, sometimes small, sometimes large, on their political views, ethical beliefs and how they want to relate to the outside world. The raindrops on all the branches fascinated me, they formed a protective barrier I couldn’t cross without getting very wet. One thing is for sure, I know these people do not want me to take a photo of their house. They want to remain unknown.

A New Tree

I went back to the garden today where I have been working on a project for nearly 4 years. I thought it was done until I saw this tree.
