Behind the public library, in a small area called Renfrew Park, is a stream that comes out of the hillside and is in the open for just a block or so. It’s called “Still Stream.” It’s a little valley where Jeff Wall once took a photo. Across the street are some houses I have photographed. Today, in the rain, I walked through this tiny valley, surrounded by a public school, library and suburban house, just feet away.
These images are taken from my more recent series in the forests of British Columbia. The images range from those which show direct human intervention, to simple compositions which change the meaning of a place through suggested structure.
