Driving through the desert in Arizona there are these places where several paths and roads seem to come together. Usually very deserted their is a sense that something has gone on here, but we just won’t ever know exactly what.

The snow covered the palms and cactus, and the ground, usually hard, became soft and gave in below my feet. In a matter of hours, the desert seemed to turn green.

At the edge of the parking lot in the forest
Just inside the forest, at the first parking lot, there seems to be a barrier, certainly an edge, there is here, and there is there, and efforts are made to make sure the line is clearly marked. Every year or so new saplings are removed, and with them, any older trees might be a danger to the cars.
