From the Garden

May 2, 2025 Jim Roche

I have been taking images of the inside of this homemade greenhouse for several years. There is always something going on inside, constantly changing. Today, again, I am surprised by what I find. Both new and familiar. Today, the light hit the plastic walls differently than usual. Early morning, and the sun breaks through, even after a week of rain.

Apartment Near The Hospital

July 21, 2024 Jim Roche

The apartment near the hospital includes a variety of windows, all telling very different stories. As the green of summer is slowly turning into a brown from too much heat I’m returning to doing some architectural photos.

In the early morning rain.

August 30, 2023 Jim Roche

I woke realising it was raining still, and it was early. I had passed by this little street that oddly enters a public park and abruptly ends. The light bluish paint on the last garage was waiting for the right light, and I knew it would come. Only 30 mins, there and back, but I am oddly happy with the image. It seems to say something quiet about summer, and early morning rain.

At the edge of the parking lot in the forest

January 5, 2023 Jim Roche

Just inside the forest, at the first parking lot, there seems to be a barrier, certainly an edge, there is here, and there is there, and efforts are made to make sure the line is clearly marked. Every year or so new saplings are removed, and with them, any older trees might be a danger to the cars.
